My head was so full of all the things this week that I’m having trouble remembering how much I worked on my book. I feel comfort knowing that I did, that despite so much tugging on my time and attention, I still wrote. But when I think about what, my mind cannot see beyond my Costco shopping list.
It was a thing of beauty, compiled diligently over several weeks in anticipation of the day we had just enough diapers to cover us while 2-day shipping brought us 2 cases more.
That day was Monday, and I know I wrote my novel on Tuesday and Wednesday and maybe even Thursday, but none of that felt as magical as tidily crossing items off the page of the skinny magnetic notepad that hangs on our refrigerator then hitting add to cart and purchase.
I just sighed deeply remembering it.
I hope I have something more literary to report next week. Maybe I’ll find a flow state while parceling out twenty pairs of kids crew socks.
Week 86: Bulking up
Some everyday: No
Words: about 426
See you next week.
